Tried to get 2 plugins to work -one after another ;-) that would add Google Analytics code in header.php, but they didn’t work.
Eventually I tried adding the script manually, but changes in header.php file wouldn’t save.
Even after I changed permissions to 777, after re-uploading the file to the server, permissions were set back 644 again and I could not put the script in the header file. (I assume that is also the reason why the plugins didn’t work.)

How can I make header.php writeable?

    Thank you for your time!

Thanks for the ‘First Message’ Trophy,
but I was hoping to get a solution…?

Sorry for the late reply, your post was overrun by spam on these forums.

If you have access to cPanel, use the file manager, you can change permissions and edit files with it. If you’re unable to change the permissions then the account you’re using doesn’t have high enough permissions to edit it.

Thanks, my hoster solved it :-)
